Supernatural Spoilers for the Rest of Season 6

There are only six more episodes left in this season of Supernatural (where has the time gone?!) and we’ve decided to put together a collection of spoilers for the remaining episodes from various sources, including all that was learned at PaleyFest (for more coverage of that event, click here and here).
We’ve organized the spoilers by episode below - given what we know about future episodes - along with a few general ones at the very end.
If I missed any spoilers let me know and I'll add them!

6x17: My Heart Will Go On (April 15)
The episode title relates directly to the famous movie that the song came from: Titanic. The basic premise of the episode is that Balthazar hated the movie and so he went back in time to essentially un-sink the ship. Executive producer Sera Gamble calls this a "Twilight Zone type of episode".
The effects of un-sinking the ship has led to some pretty significant changes: chief among them the fact that both Ellen Harvelle will return in this new reality. Bobby will be married to Ellen in the alternate reality.
A Greek mythological character named Fate will feature in this episode. After Balthazar changes the past, Fate will appear and start killing those who should have died on the Titanic, along with their children. Apparently she’s also extremely angry with Sam and Dean and Castiel will tell the brothers that in order to stop her from killing them, they’ll have to kill her.
View promo photos for this episode here. View two sneak peeks for this episode here and here.

6x18: "Frontierland" (April 22)
From the sneak peek shown at PaleyFest (view it here), we see that Sam and Dean are sent back to 1861 Wyoming to find Samuel Colt and a creature called Phoenix. Apparently the boys figure out that there is a formula that they can use to help them fight Eve, but the only time this formula ever existed was in 1861, so they ask Cas to send them back in time so they can find it. Sam will be riding a horse and the two eventually get suited up with authentic Western garb. Dean will be facing off against a man for a gun-fight at high noon. Castiel and Bobby will not be heading back in time to join the boys.
View promo photos for the episode here.

6x19 "Mommy Dearest" (April 29)
Sam and Dean will finally meet Eve face-to-face in this episode. They track her down to a small town in Oregon where the townspeople have been converted to demons. Eve brings back Mary Winchester as a demon in an effort to torment the Winchester brothers.
It will be very difficult for Dean to see his mother again. Jensen told EW “She comes back under some different circumstances. And whenever she shows her face – especially for Dean – it’s very difficult and very emotional.”
According to a Facebook post from Jim Beaver and a tweet from Amber Benson, Benson, who has only appeared once in a season 2 episode of Supernatural, will be making a return appearance as the vampire Lenore in this episode.

6x20: "The Man Who Would Be King" (May 6)
The episode was written and directed by writer/producer Ben Edlund (marking the first time he's directed an episode for Supernatural). The episode will be very Castiel-centric and will deal primarily with the war in Heaven that Castiel is currently fighting. We'll learn more about what that involves for him and his own internal dilemmas as he explains the situation to Bobby and the Winchesters. Expect to learn more about Castiel's backstory and his "childhood".

Bobby will also suspect that Castiel is hiding information from them, but Dean won't want to believe that.
Ben Edlund told TVLine: “It’s kind of him looking over his life. And as we move toward the end of this season, Cas is going to make some very, very big, difficult choices. He takes stock of what his life is as an angel and what it’s been since the Winchesters came into it and what that’s meant to him. It’s a pretty interesting character portrait [and] it leads to a pretty interesting path. We’ll [also] see some elements of Heaven, a very kaleidoscopic place. We’ll reveal some things about the mechanics of Heaven.”
We’ll be meeting a new character named Rachel, who is an angel and is Castiel's trusted lieutenant.
Don’t expect to actually see the war in Heaven though (probably due to budget reasons). But, according to EW, we will see how the war plays out with respect to the Winchester brothers and how the outcome affects their world.

6x21: “Let It Bleed (aka Haunter of the Dark)”
6x22: "The Man Who Knew Too Much” (Two-Hour Season Finale Airing May 20)

Gamble wrote part 1 of the finale, while series creator Eric Kripke wrote part 2. Part 1 will apparently be primarily Dean-centric, while part 2 will be Sam-centric. There’s a little bit of uncertainty about the actual title for the finale. Original it was rumored to be called “The Haunter of the Dark, Parts 1 and 2”, but now apparently the titles have changed.
All of the loose mythological stories should be dealt with in the finale - Purgatory, the war in Heaven, Sam’s amnesia and the wall in his head - and somehow all of it will tie together. According to reports from the recent Jus in Bello convention in Rome, we will learn who actually pulled Sam out of Hell. Crowley is apparently not responsible for busting him out of Lucifer's cage.
Expect two unexpected deaths to occur in the season finale. Given how un-permanent death is in the Supernatural universe, there's no telling whether these new deaths will stick. Gamble told TV Guide that the episodes will be very dark and desperate.
The finale will have Eve facing off against the Winchesters and Castiel. Misha Collins told TV Guide: ""It's epic and daunting. The final confrontation is definitely not what anyone is expecting. It is, however, larger and more epic than the viewers are expecting."

Jim Beaver told TV Line: “There are changes in the alliances, and in Castiel’s relationship with the boys and with Bobby" (could this refer to Bobby's suspicions in about Castiel keeping secrets in the previous episode?)
But Kripke is quick to assure fans that the brothers' relationship will not be threatened again, like it was throughout most of seasons 4 and 5. He told TV Guide: "We're actually enjoying that, for the first time in a long time, the brothers are a really strong, cohesive unit, so we're going to keep them like that for the foreseeable future."
Sam's wall will also definitely be coming down in the finale. The writers will also address Sam's amnesia from when he was soulless and Sam will confront his previous actions and engage in a lot of soul searching. Kripke told TV Line: You don’t want to blow it off,” he says with a laugh. “You don’t want him to be a drooling vegetable on the floor either because that’s not super-exciting to watch last I checked. But I think it’ll be good. I think it’ll be really powerful and emotional. Hopefully, the fans will enjoy it.
Like with most previous season finales, expect a very big cliffhanger that Kripke says will leave fans tearing out their hair while waiting over the summer. Padalecki told TV Guide that "This one doesn't necessarily end with death, but with a whole new beginning."
General
The remaining episodes of the season will feature more group interactions - with the brothers uniting with Bobby and Castiel to help defeat Eve and the other problems that spring up. But it won't be all team-building exercises. Jim Beaver warned EW that: “Certain relationships among the group have some rather climactic shifts. Don’t expect the four of us to all be relating the same way at the end of the season as we were at the beginning.” This likely relates to what Beaver said above with changes in Castiel’s relationships with the boys and Bobby.
Despite the fact that a recent episode seemed to hint at the end of Ben and Lisa on Supernatural, Jensen Ackles told EW that the montage might not have been the last we see or hear of the pair: “That, I believe, is going to be a weak point or an achilles heel at some point,” he said. “There’s definitely a conclusion that comes, and it’s a very emotional conclusion.”
So that's all folks, spoilers for the remaining episodes of Supernatural. Make sure to tune into an all new episode tonight and check back later for our review. Also, did you see that Supernatural won a recent survey of the strongest online fandom (here) and the videos from Supernatural's win of favorite sci-fi show in the TV Guide fan favorites awards (here)? Supernatural Exec: Musical Episode Would Be 'Risky,' But Is Still a Very Real Possibility

Picture this : An episode of Supernatural (Fridays at 9/8c) that begins just like any other (demons, souls in peril, etc;), and then — bam! — Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles break into song, all the while looking dapper as can be. Sounds ah-mazing, no? Well, through no prodding of my own, executive producer Bob Singer tells TVLine that just such a much-desired outing may finally be on the way (should the CW series receive a Season 7).
Also in this Q&A: more details on the boys’ trip to the Old West, the search for Eve, and what Singer really thought of the meta experimental “French Mistake.”
TVLINE | Congratulations on the buzzy meta episode, “The French Mistake.” Were you at all surprised to have pulled off such a monumental feat so seamlessly?
We were really thrilled that the reaction was so good, because we’d certainly talked about how it could have been shooting ourselves in the foot. [Laughs] This is terrible to say because it sounds so self-congratulatory, but I really thought it was one of the best episodes of television I ever saw. Everybody in it was just great — Ben Edlund wrote a great script, Charles Beeson directed the hell out of it, and the scene where the boys had to “act”… I must have seen it 50 times now and I laugh every time. It fit into our overall storytelling, too, and impacted what’s going on in the series in a meaningful way. I thought it succeeded on every level.
TVLINE | But now you have set the bar on these outside-the-box episodes so high. Is there any worry around Camp Supernatural that you won’t be able to top it? Or is there already something in the works?
Well, we’ve done the Western now (“Frontierland,” airing April 22), and we’ve done our meta episode… but from Year One, there have been two things we’ve talked about: How do you do a musical? And how do you do a cartoon? We haven’t found a way to do either one of those yet, but I’m sure it’ll come up in conversation for next season, an animated show or a musical. Musicals are really risky ground, but we do talk about it.
TVLINE | Speaking of the Western episode, talk a little about what fans can expect.
It’s a lot of fun. We’ve wanted to do a Western for a long time, and finally found the right platform to launch it. Everyone had a great time making it, especially Jensen [Ackles], who was just dying to do this one. It’s very organic to our storytelling and steeped in the much earlier mythology that we told in Season 2, right up to the current mythology. We’re very happy with the episode.

TVLINE | How exactly does it tie into the present day storyline?

It has to do with [Eve] the mother of all monsters and how you combat her, because clearly this a very powerful force at work here and a real challenge to the guys. But going back to when they got Samuel Colt’s weapon, they now get something out of his journal that can be helpful to them in dealing with the mother. That’s why they go back to the Old West.
TVLINE | Is there a satisfying conclusion to the Eve storyline?
Eve’s story gets its rightful conclusion, and from there we go on to basically wrap up the season-long mystery, which was our plan for the year. Early on, we had decided to tell this 22-hour film noir mystery, and peel the onion away slowly.
TVLINE | Does the season end on an ambiguous note? Or is everything neatly wrapped up?
It’s a solid ending for the main arc of the season, but we do have a cliffhanger that hopefully will carry over the summer and take us into a new story in Season 7. We answer all the questions that the audience might have, but we leave one very big cliffhanger there.
TVLINE | Did you approach this finale as if it might be the end of the series? Or were you thinking — rather, hoping — you’d be renewed and given the opportunity to tell more of the story?
[Renewal] was the hope. We had discussions about how to end [the series, and] at one point, everything in terms of this season’s storyline was going to be closed. But then we saw an opportunity for what we thought was a really good cliffhanger, and we hoped for a next year. In terms of good storytelling, we just thought this was a better idea.
TVLINE | Best-case scenario: Supernatural is picked up for a seventh season — what’s the game plan?
Most of it’s up in the air. The only thing that we have talked about is that since this year was kind of an old-fashioned noir mystery, next year may have the boys being Butch and Sundance, or the Wild Bunch. Basically, it’d be telling the a story of the last of the cowboys, gone modern. That’s just a jumping-off point. Whether we actually do that or how that realizes itself… we haven’t gotten that far yet. But there’s an idea of, “The world is closing in around you.”

EW spoilers. More...

The Alpha Vampire returneth! EP Bob Singer tells us that even though the writers haven't really discussed bringing him back, they are more than up for it. "We love that character. And if I was betting I would say he would [return]."

In an upcoming episode where the boys are hunting down Eve (Julia Maxwell), Bob reveals : "There is a nice little twist when they zero in on where she is and when we find out what she has been up to. I don't think [fans] will be disappointed with that [episode]; it has a lot of twists and turns. And one really cool twist at the end."

Question : So… Supernatural. I just love that the brother dynamic has returned now that Sam’s got his soul back. Can we expect some great brotherly love in this season’s remaining episodes? - Julia
Ausiello: You can. As exec producer Bob Singer previews, “Dean is willing to trust him completely. And by season’s end, they are in total lock-step with each other, saving each other’s lives and having that relationship the fans crave.”

About a character...

Supernatural : Castiel Bends Time and Truth

On Supernatural's upcoming Western-themed episode, Dean and Sam aren't the only ones facing a life or death showdown.

After Castiel (Misha Collins) sends the Winchesters (Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki) back in time to follow up on a clue from Samuel Colt's diary, he continues with his own efforts to build up a supernatural army. As the season has been progressing, however, more and more of his actions have become suspect.

In a surprising confrontation, we see Castiel engage in a battle to defend his hidden agenda. In the aftermath, he goes back to Bobby and the boys with a slightly skewed account of the tussle.

"He doesn't exactly tell the whole story to them," executive producer Sera Gamble tells TVGuide.com. "Cas' role has changed in that he's not just a soldier anymore, he is responsible for a lot of people. One of the difficult lessons that Cas has been forced to learn is that with great responsibility comes compromise, a really difficult compromise. He's commanding essentially a guerrilla army and like all commanders and, in a certain way like all politicians, you might find yourself bending the truth at one time or another."

The show's writers deliberately decided to tarnish Castiel this season in order to test his character.

"That's something we were interested in exploring for Castiel who is such a sincere and honest, really deeply feeling character on the show," Gamble says. "Angels have been just d---s on the show, but Castiel has been the opposite, so we put him in this position where he'd be forced to have to do these things that he doesn't want to have to do necessarily."

Check out the rest of today's news

And for the comic book readers out there, keep an eye out for what Gamble says just might be a nod to a Marvel character, although it's one she didn't catch at first.

"I wouldn't put it past [writers Dan Loflin and Andrew Dabb]," she says. "Especially Andrew reads a lot of comic books so it's totally possible. I didn't even notice!"

Castiel Bends Time and Truth

Enjoy !
